The Ports selected for the blend of this wine are fermented in traditional mills for better extraction of power and structure, and in self-vinifying for elegance and sweetness. The aging process is then carried out in oak barrels and vats.

The 40-year designation is the result of a mix of Ports from different years, which are rigorously screened and aged in premium oak barrels that make an average of 40 years.
