1994 was an excellent year at the Douro, acclaimed for producing one of the classic Vintage Ports of the 20th century. In addition to the exceptional lots chosen for bottling like Vintage Port, Peter Symington has made a selection of other outstanding wines originating from Quinta dos Malvedo and quinta das Lages, which he has earmarked for long-term aging in oak barrels.
Tawny amber brown color, incredibly intense and deep. Rose petal, oriental spice and toasted honey, overlaid with balsamic and dry aromatic sweets. Full-bodied, with flavors of raisins. Delicate roasted coffee finish. Very fresh flavors, very intense and persistent. It shows superb structure, balance and finesse.
