Legado represents a tribute from Fernando Guedes and his team to the best that the Douro has to offer, a simple homage to Sogrape's roots.

The grapes come from a centuries-old vineyard, Quinta do Caêdo. The harvest is manual, the grapes are selected in the vineyard and on the selection mat, at the entrance to the cellar. After destemming and soft crushing, the grapes are sent to stainless steel vats, where alcoholic fermentation takes place. A long and gentle maceration is carried out, at a controlled temperature, with the aim of extracting the compounds that express the terroir of that vineyard.

Maturation in French oak barrels for a period of approximately 30 months. During this period, it is subject to numerous tests and analyzes in order to monitor its evolution. In order to preserve the highest quality, it is only subjected to a light filtration before bottling.

The wine has a deep ruby color. The aroma is very intense and complex, with notes of shrubs, olive paste, floral, black fruits, stony notes, and very well integrated wood. It has excellent volume on the palate, firm tannins, crisp acidity, shrubby notes, olive paste and black fruits, with a long and elegant finish.
