Ornellaia was founded in 1981 by Lodovico Antinori and today is one of the most respected wineries in Italy. As one of the first settlers in the region, Ornellaia is one of the few producers to own vineyards in the foothills.

This is a beautiful expression of coastal Tuscany and sunny Mediterranean.

The Ornellaia comes out of the bottle with a specific darkness, paint elements and ruby reflections. The wine is saturated and rich but also reveals a pleasant lightness or grace that is conveyed both in the bouquet and on the palate. Dark fruit, pressed blackberry and plum mingle with more substantial aromas of spice, leather and sweetly cured tobacco. The tannins are beautifully managed and the wine has considerable weight and density on the palate that leads to a very long and pleasant mouth feel.
