Este Brunello di Montalcino da região da Toscana is producing no Castello Giocondo, pertença da tradiconal familia Frescobaldi.
The village of CastelGiocondo overlooks the historic estate of the Frescobaldi in Montalcino: an ancient fortress built in the year 1100 to defend the road leading from the sea to Siena. The property is one of the first four to begin producing Brunello di Montalcino in the 1800 s, and its historical importance is represented on the label of CastelGiocondo by the figure of a condottiere, in a famous fresco by the Sienese artist Simone Martini.

The artist's representation shows Guidoriccio da Fogliano, commander of the troops of Siena who, in 1323, led the attack on the castle of Montemassi, a historical moment that coincided with the beginning of the secular adventure of the Frescobaldi family in the world of wine.

Ruby red color. The nose is expressed with aromas of cherries, touches of cinnamon, tobacco, mint and tea leaves. In the mouth it is enveloping, velvety tannins that give a creamy, balsamic feel.

The end is very long, typical of this wine.
