One was 80 years old, with several flaws, derived from an abandoned portion. In an area of intense exposure and with huge outcrops of shale, the surface where not a single herb remains. The people of the Fifth quickly nicknamed her the "Vine of the Abandoned". For years they tried to recover the vineyard and replant the missing vines. Despite all care only the older strains were able to subsist in such extreme conditions. In 2004 they decided to isolate it for the first time in the Quinta da Gaivosa cellar. It immediately revealed a unique personality and character. They decided to bottle it in honor of the Douro's only old vines, which will one day disappear.

Deep ruby color. Aroma of ripe fruit include dark cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate, licorice, eucalyptus, exotic spices, balsamic notes and mineral details. In the mouth, a very well structured, juicy, deep wine results, combined with beautiful freshness and firm tannins.
