Blandy's Malvasia 5 years ferments with natural yeasts at a temperature between 18 and 21ºC in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. After approximately 48 hours, fortification is carried out with wine alcohol (96% v/v), in order to maintain the desired natural sugar content. The Blandy's Malvasia 5 years is aged for 5 years in American oak casks using the traditional 'Canteiro' process. This includes gently warming the wine in the attic of the warehouses in Funchal. Dark golden brown with a characteristic Madeira Wine bouquet of raisins, caramel and nuts. Sweet, full-bodied, with notes of honey. A complex finish and pleasantly balanced with acidity. It is an excellent accompaniment to desserts, especially fruit, cakes and chocolate and cheese creams.
