This iconic Portuguese red wine is one of the relics of winemaker and producer Luís Pato from the Bairrada region in Oiã.

His dream 26 years ago was to create a wine that demonstrated what pre-phylloxeric wines were like. Thus was born the FOP FRANCO, as it is known. He planted 1.2ha of vineyard of the Baga variety, directly, as was used in pre-phylloxeric Europe, on sandy ground. With anxiety, the first harvest was made in 1995, seven years after planting.

A very stout wine, which hides the tannins of the grape and the acidity characteristic of the climate of the region. With an aging capacity that exceeds the score of years, making it an excellent wine to celebrate.
