| This iconic Portuguese red wine is one of the relics of winemaker and producer Luís Pato from the Bairrada region of Oiã. His dream, 26 years ago, was to create a wine that would demonstrate what pre -phylloxerics. Thus was born PÉ FRANCO, as it is known. It proceeded to the planting of 1.2ha of vines of the Baga variety, directly, as was used in pre-phylloxeric Europe, in sandy soil. The first harvest was anxiously made in 1995, seven years after planting. As each vine is enough to make 1 glass of wine, it takes the work of six vines a year to obtain a bottle of this nectar. . Very full-bodied wine, with the tannins typical of the variety and excellent acidity. Fundamental factors to give it an aging capacity of 20 years. What makes it an excellent wine to celebrate your child's coming of age, if applicable, birth or marriage. |
