Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal is a house with great notoriety in the production and aging of fortified wines from Setúbal, having very old vineyards of this variety, located in the best “terroirs” of the region. The Moscatel Roxo variety was, until a few years ago, an endangered variety in the region. Taking into account its enormous quality and the preservation of the regional heritage, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal promoted the planting of Moscatel Roxo, with excellent results.

This wine has a dark topaz color and an intense, rich and complex aroma, with notes of orange blossom and roses, raisins, almonds and honey. In the mouth, unctuous and rich, there are notes of candied orange on a sweetness perfectly balanced by good acidity. Very broad and persistent towards the end.

Moscatel Roxo 5 Years Old is a dessert wine, and its sweetness combined with a good acid balance makes it especially suitable with sweet oranges, dried fruit or dark chocolate.
