Taylor's is proud to announce the launch of a rare special edition of Porto to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

To mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III on 6 May 2023, Taylor's reserved a very limited amount of Very Very Old Tawny Port to be bottled as a commemorative limited edition. To create a wine worthy of the occasion, with its paramount importance in UK national life, Taylor's blenders have turned to some of the oldest and rarest Port wines that ripen in oak barrels.

The decades of aging gave them "a strength and a majestic depth, developing a remarkable freshness and vitality."

Proof Notes: Dark tea color encircled by a yellow gold crown. Subtle olive highlights on the edge are evidence of the great age of the wine. The nose is majestic and safe. Multiple intertwined dimensions and layers of flavor evolved over decades of aging in oak barrels. A backdrop of cedar, balsamic aroma gives the wine a fresh and elevated character. This is superimposed by warmer notes of butterscotch, marzipan and vanilla.

The wine owes much of its seductive character to a magical blend of spice notes -- nutmeg, cloves and black pepper -- that comes up as the wine opens into the glass. The palate is fresh and vibrant, with acidity and spirit both wonderfully integrated, and there's the soft, silky texture that's the hallmark of the best cask-aged Port wines. The intense and complex flavors remain in the seemingly endless finale. Elegant and graceful, this wine has reached the perfect drinking age.
