The Bairrada region is located between Agueda and Coimbra, bounded to the north by the Vouga river, to the south by the Mondego river, to the east by the Caramulo and Bucaco mountains and to the west by the Atlantic Ocean. It is a region of mostly flat terrain, with vineyards that rarely exceed 120 meters in altitude, which, due to its flatness and proximity to the ocean, enjoys a temperate climate due to a very strong Atlantic influence, with abundant rainfall and moderate average temperatures.
The soils are predominantly divided between clayey-limestone terrains and long sandy strips, enshrining very different styles depending on the predominance of each element.
